Why does everyone hate the T-Rex in San Diego part??

I thought it was awesome. I remember seeing this movie twice in theaters. (I've seen all 4 of them in theaters) and this scene is just so much fun.

Why all the hate??? It's Spielberg's little homage to King Kong. Even the boat that carries the Rex is called the Venture (same boat from King Kong)

Can someone please give me a good reason why they hate this part of the movie so much?

Who wouldn't want to see a T-Rex terrorizing a city? People are so cynical and hard to please.

I thought it was a great nod to King Kong.

I liked it, just think a lot of it was done sloppy. I also think it should have been in a seperate movie personally.

reply

I didn't mind, I love this film. It also brings everything full circle considering the cynicism of the public that the events from JP ever happened.

reply

Homage to Kong or not, it was poorly exucted.

reply

It was too reminiscent of King Kong, and the T Rex didn't really terrorise the city. King Kong did it better.

reply

Not everyone hates it, I thought it was kind of neat.

reply

I guess it could've been better, although I do find it rather funny and enjoyable.

You want something corny? You got it!

reply

It was done on too small a scale to be as exciting as the concept.
