Where was the movie filmed and in what city was it based? I'm thinking it was filmed and based somewhere on the East Coast due to the ocean and the references of "going out West." Thanks!

This movie was filmed in my town of Rockaway Beach which is located in Queens, New York.

Rockaway is a great place.

And I used to live right down the block from the Blackwater Pub. Good times.

I used to live further out on Long Island, and the bridge she drives over at the end is actually the bridge that's part of Robert Moses Causeway, which ran right behind my house.
