How awful!

The only thing that saved this film was Jon Bon Jovi. I detested this film. Edward Burns has done it again. Ruined cinema. Stay away Ed, please! Keep on truckin

I don't think you understand what Burns is trying to do.
He is a great film maker, but even the best make 'not so good films' whilst they experiment with their genre.

I liked the movie!

I have nothing to say but I was glad that I was also right that Jon is a good actor too.

I'd say good luck to him.
And to them....

I agree with you. i really liked this movie as well and all the performances were excellent and this film got Jon Bon Jovi alot of notices after making a very good debut in the little seen Moonlight and Valentino that came out in 1995. it's really hard finding a copy of the DVD since it is now long out of print. one day maybe.

I enjoyed this movie too, and Bon Jovi was pretty damn sexy.

is ready...

reply

the presence of Jon makes the film worthy! :)
he is so sexy! mmmmm....

reply

The problem was that EVERYONE was too sexy and attractive in this film. There were no good character actors in it. That ruined the film for me.

Mediocre, not awful.

I'm with you. I've enjoyed some of Burns' movies, but this piece of trash is borderline unwatchable. I mean, who are we supposed to be rooting for in this movie? Charlie? An insufferable feminine hygiene product? Claudia? Who's inexplicably drawn to said FHP? And where's she going at the end of the flick? Just...away, I guess. Definitely Burns' worst film.

I agree. Other than possibly Michael, it's tough to find someone to root for in this film. Claudia had gotten on my nerves by around the 29 minute mark. I think the word that best describes this film is "insufferable".

"Love isn't what you say or how you feel, it's what you DO". (The Last Kiss)

While I'm glad Claudia made the choice she did in the end, I found myself rooting for Michael since he was the most likable character. But I guess the film was trying to show how Claudia finally matured to realize her dreams, even if her character was already pushing 30; it's never too late until you're dead.

Michael (Bon Jovi) will likely move on, successfully, to find a hometown woman to marry and with whom he'll share a happy middle-income family existence (his dream). Charlie will stay Charlie; he'll likely move in and out of town, and in and out of relationships with various women until something possibly sticks.
