Young girs to Jeremy Irons: "Lolita is our favorite movie!"
So Irons was on the Nerdist podcast, and when Hardwick asked him which movie from his filmography is the one people talk about the most when they meet him, he revealed two titles: Die Hard 3 and, that's right, Lolita.
Thing is, and Irons mentions how uncomfortable that makes him, most of the people telling him how much they love Lolita are actually, as he says, "attractive young girls". It is indeed kinda weird (or is it, considering today's wild and crazy younger generation) and Irons himself says that it "always throws me a bit".
It's good to know that Lolita 1997 has a fanbase, but unfortunately for Irons the fans of the movie he meets are apparently NOT from the target audience. Still, I'm pretty sure he's quite proud of the movie.
