Let's talk about Holly Hunter and then the movie

About Holly Hunter:

When I saw the Piano, I thought she was beautiful.

When I saw Always, I thought she was ok, nothing more, nothing less.

When I saw A Life Less Ordinary I thought: My god she's sexy!!!

Cameron Diaz is a very beautiful woman, but in that movie, for my part I assume, Holly Hunter stole the whole show.

About the movie:

It is a masterpiece, full of humor and great feelings. Last time I watched it, I smiled, laughed and cried for something like 103 minutes.

I don't know why it was so unnoticed when it came out.

Finally, I am not complaining about the rating that it has won on IMDb, cause I love so many movies that have quite a bad rating here, I just like to think that I enjoy movies that are misunderstood.

it is quite the masterpiece but i have a question why did you cry?

reply

I cried for two reasons.

First, because of the whole part where Robert is trying to get Celine back from his father, with the whole parallel thing with the angels asking if they have the authority to intervene.

Second, I am a sissi and I cry in almost every movie, except big comedies, and the movies I hate.

all right, yeah, Holly Hunter steals the freakin show. I don't know if I have ever seen a character in a movie that personifies sex through acting quite like she did. and from an artistic (as opposed to being from a straight male) point of view, it was cool to see how she and Jackson both represented different takes on love, Jackson being much more amorous and poetic, and O'Reily being flashy and sexually driven, as well as how their gender effected their views (with Hunter being far more lucid to the circumstance then Jackson). God though, she was hot.

This is one of my favorites, largely due to Holly Hunter. The character was great, and she played it to a T. She really got to make the most of her husky/unique voice.

There should be more romantic comedies with bizzare surreal twists in them. I adore the thought of having violent, psychotic, overtly sexual, angels of love.

Yes.

And this coming from someone who absolutely dislikes, and cannot tolerate her one tiny bit as an actress...except that I LOVE HER in this movie. She totally steals the show, from immensely powerful talents. She makes the movie her own. She's brilliant in this role.

I believe Holly's work was probably the most overlooked Oscar nod for a supporting preformance in the ninties. In a Titanic year of huge films and big box office, this brilliant gem was sadly overlooked.

She is sexy in this movie.

I think Holly Hunter and Delroy Lindo are one of the best aspects of this film. Their characters, and their acting are just hilarious. The whole concept - two angels set up for failure- was just great.

reply

Absolutely true, they gave the movie a lot of interest.

It's a great comedy.

when shes reading that book in bed........ so sexy, lol

The first movie I ever saw her in was "Things You Can Tell Just By Looking At Her" so I got maybe a little bit of a skewed view of her as an actress. That being said, the way she arranged the life-or-death love scene between Ewan and Cameron ("Jeopardy Jackson, jeopardy. Works every time.") really impressed me - I just wasn't aware of her talent!
