North by Northwest

Has Danny Boyle ever directly admitted to certain scenes in this being some kind of homage to Hitchcock's North by Northwest? I just watched NBNW for the first time and it's driving me crazy that I can't find any reference to the similarities when I google the two titles!!

At the very beginning of both films there is a shot where you can see a busy street in the reflection of the window of a sky scraper. Then in the beginning of the crop dusting scene in NBNW with the aerial shot of Cary Grant standing alone by the dusty road, for the first minute or so it's exactly identical to the scene in A Life Less Ordinary when Robert goes to collect the ransom!!

I guess I've got things all backwards, but I'm only in my twenties and ALLO is one of my all time favourite movies, and when I saw NBNW the similarities really stuck out for me... tell me I'm not going crazy - surely someone else has seen both films and seen the similarities?!
