Two suitcases

Did anyone notice that while Renee Z. and Tim Roth were having a conversation on the pavement, the camera turns to the other side of the road and shows a man with 2 suitcases. This is in reference to the suitcases that Tim R. put the girl's pieces later on, although I couldn't figure out what the significance or message is. Any ideas?

I think that was Tim Roth, because we later find out that the discussion with Renee never happened. We see what he claimed happened (conversation) and what actually happened Roth carrying suitcases containing Renee.
