Favorite lines.....?

Lots of good stuff in this movie, but here's my two favorites.

[when Sid Hudgens is found dead]

Bud White: What happened?

Detective at Hush-Hush Office: Somebody beat him to death and stole a bunch of files. Must've dug up garbage on the wrong guy. Got it narrowed down to a thousand suspects.

With Exley & White at the Victory Motel in a position tantamount to the end of Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid....

Ed Exley: All I ever wanted was to measure up to my father.

Bud White: Now's your chance.

Bud White: [after Exley gives him a puzzled look] He died in the line of duty, didn't he?

Yours??

reply

Bud White - What do I get if I give your balls back you Wap c'k sucker?

reply

Jack Vincennes (dying): "Rollo Tomasi..."

*Spoilers I guess*

Before killing Sid Hudgens, Dudley says "Hush hush". A bit of dark humour there, but I really lol'd at that, I mean loudly.

This is your life and it's ending one minute at a time.

Every other line in the movie is a favorite. I cant choose just 2 or 3. My favorite movie of the 90's. 👍

reply

"LAPD, sh*tbird. Get the fuq out of here or I'll call your wife to come get you."

reply

Good one. And it was said the Crowe way. 👍

" Well, just dont shoot me" The actors were so good they made even lines like this one great.

" Shotgun Ed "

" dope fiends"

A very entertaining movie. They were smart enough to add in bits of humor here and there .

Yeah, every other line is memorable, but these are two of my faves:

White: "The Nite Owl case made you. Do you want to tear all that down?"
Exley: "With a wrecking ball.. You want to help me swing it?"

Captain Smith: "Go back to Jersey, sonny. This is the City of the Angels, and you haven't got any wings."

Dudley: It's best not to mess with a man when his blood's up.
Exley: His blood is always up.

Bud White and Exley burst into the D.A.'s office
Secretary: Should I call the police?
D.A.: These are the police.

reply

"Here's your courage, drink up."

reply

do you have any proof?
the proof had his throat slit.

is that how you used to run the good-cop/bad-cop?

maybe that's why he's under a house in Elysian Park and he doesn't smell too good.

will someone tell that mime to shut up?

reply

D.A.: "Dudley Smith is a highly decorated member of this police department. I'm not going to smear his and Peirce Patchet's name without..."

Exley: "Without what? Them smearing yours first? What do they have on you Lowe? Pictures of you and Matt Reynolds with your pants down?"
