i do not believe there could ever be a commercial movie based on howard's kull.unlike conan who has a sense of humour and an adult sex life,kull is more like conan's god crom.he is a humourless brutal killer who rules by the axe and refuses intimacy with anyone(he will leave no heirs).not so much a man as a primitive war god, a movie of him would reduce the sword/sorcery genre to the most savage slasher level(not a bad thing but unlikly blockbuster material)

shareI think the choice of Tia Carrere was a lousy one. I'm not saying she is a bad actress, or that she isn't pretty, but red hair & blue eyes with her features looks about as natural as a blue lion with purple eyes!!!

I can't complain really as you can tell they put a serious effort. Many of the films I like and enjoy surprisingly and angrily go dud at the box office and yet a lot of garbage sells like crazy even if the same fans hate it. its so stupid. I cant weigh in. Example I just saw Once upon in America, Easily one of the best, most touching, and well done films I've ever seen. When I went to check out the trivias I surprised how bad it was at the box office. Look at any of the latest trash like fifty shades in hollywood a lot do pretty well at the very least break even and if the studios dont make its triple they are no longer interested in doing it again. Like with the tv series its the same shit. SO many tv series I like easily get axe and cancelled even if they do pretty well. Oooh they ain't killing it like friends, thrones, sparatcus or some other shit. AXED.
I didn't think they overdid it. The mix of Asian (facial features) and Norse (red hair/green eyes) gave Akivasha (Tia) a kind of exotic look, but not otherworldly or clownish. I favor redheads (my wife is a redhead) and therefore feel it made Tia even more attractive.

shareThey did not try to make Howard's Kull. In fact, the studio interfered and wanted to make it more like the Hercules show Sorbo was starring in at the time.

Yes, but on top of that, they ended up wanting to simply capitalize on the success of Hercules, watering it down even more. Sorbo was against it, but hardly in a position to put up much of a fight against it.....
