Being a fan of exactly this kind of movies i just saw this movie after wanting to see it since it came out and was really impressed by it. I love it. They should keep showing it on hbo cause its fun every time. Easily way better and more enjoyable than today's films.

As far as fantasy movies go, it is really a fun ride and decent enough story (divorcing it from any REH source material of course). I really liked the music despite being a unique combination - epic fantasy meets electric guitar. I will also give props to the casting department for getting decent actors who fit their roles incredibly well (aside from the lead of course, lol); they also happened to get some that were in the prime of their careers (Tia, Litefoot, Karina) in retrospect of course. As an aside, I was sorry to see that Litefoot never seriously pursued his acting in favor of his music because the guy did have talent.
It is not perfect of course: Sorbo's atrocious/hammy delivery of certain lines - " She told me she was nineteen!!", the dungeon creature who looked almost recycled from CtD, some over-the-top attempts at humor like with Harvey. The camel bit was pretty hilarious though I must admit!
All in all though, definitely a movie I'm not ashamed to admit I enjoy watching when I can catch it on television.
Yea I liked Tia of course. I consider it a great and her very best big time role. Truly hot asian actress, probably my favorite all-time.
But the hammy and the transition from tv to the big screen its part of the appeal for me and aside from Conan which is hugely violent this is more toned down and rewatchable. Parents who have kids must condone this as so many films with a lot of violence come out which aren't suitable and kids like action films. Films like this aren't made any more for kids sadly which sucks and kids deserve their treats of sword play.
It's a great tv movie to sit back and unwind.
