Anyone else notice alarming similarities between "Killing Mr. Griffin" and big-budget flop "Teaching Mrs.Tingle"? Hell, even the original title ("Killing Mrs. Tingle) was a rip-off from this superior TV-movie.

Well, the coever of the box does boast "from the author of 'I Know What You Did Last Summer'" which was not Kevin Williamson; he just wrote the screenplay for the movie. I think it's safe to say Tingle was either an uncredited rip-off (I'm too lazy to go check and see if Lois Duncan's book is credited) or a big-budget remake.
Either way, both movies sucked big fat hairy ones. I can't see anyone besides teenaged girls actually liking these movies. Oh well, at least we get to see the Pink Ranger attempt to act (and fail).

My husband looked up Teaching Mrs Tingle early this morning coz it was on, and we found out that that movie was supossed to b a remake of Killing Mr Griffin but they changed the title from killing to teaching becuz Colubine happened..... i was thinking the same thing but now it makes sense, don't knwo y they made a remake of it so early this movie was only 97 & TMT came out in what like 99, 2000?

Teaching Mrs. Tingle was a remake of the original Lois Duncan novel. So was Killing Mr. Griffin. Like the poster above me said, they changed the title of Tingle due to the Columbine massacre.
The similarities are there because both movies are based off of the book.
Lois Duncan isn't credited. It is not officially based on the novel.

just watched the scream documentary,kevin williamson actually sold the teaching mrs tingle script in 1993/1994 before he wrote scream,and scream was made years before teaching mrs tingle.not sure if the original 1993 title said teaching or killing,but by the time it was made,columbine happenned so the name change was prolly inevitable.
