'Karakter' means 'I love you' in Thai spelling!!!

"Ka" is "I"(not a polite word)
"Rak" is "love"
and "Ter" is "you"

my best advice is to find at least 5 people within 100 miles of you that you trust with your life.

So? Its a movie from Holland, not Thailand.

Karakter doesnt mean character by the way, but personality.

reply

Character can also mean personality.

"He's got character", you mean the same thing as in the Dutch language.

Perhaps the Thai translation is a sign that Dreverhaven (Jan Decleir, Belgian of course...!!:) underneath that evil mask, he always has loved his only son afterall...:)
And u can see that in the end I think, were he regrets a bit what he has done to his son, but in a way he believes too that it was for Jacob's sake, to make him stronger in life...

Anyway, one of the best Benelux movies ever!

Don't count on that translation of Thai. The original story was written by Bordewijk in the 1930's. ;)

I'm Dutch, so I know what the title means, but it's just fun to play with words and to find out things like this :).
