Outstanding Movie

This movie is different, creative, and very well done. It has a Dickensian flavor of inevitability that drives it along and carries the viewer with it. The five principal characters, Dreverhaven, Katadreuffe, Joba, Lorna and Gankelaar, are wonderfully developed with efficient strokes of the brush. If there is someone out there who wants more than the cliches and platitudes of Hollywood star movies, you should give this one a look.

My favorite opera is Die Valkure. I've always loved horses.

Agree, this movie is one of the finest films I've ever seen coming out of Holland, as good as "De Tweeling" "Turks Fruit" and "De Aanslag". better than "Antonia" and much better than "Zus & Zo".

I have to watch more dutch movies!

One of the finest films to come out of any country! A real shame it is not more widely appreciated.

What makes you think stories by Dickens reach some inevitable conclusion.
Why read past chapter one if you really think so?

I do agree the movie is great
