When Jackal ambushes house

I love that scene, where he turns the music on, shocks everyone and kills them all. The music is brilliant aswell.
And the bit where he calmly flicks a fleck of dust off his MP5SD, sticks it through the sofa and puts one in Valentina's belly. Classic.

I'll always remember that.

NATHAN GAMBLE, Bobby Coleman, Zachary Gordan and Jackson Bond are all AWESOME

I thought he was taking the safety off or something.

Nah mate. Why would the safety even be on, when hes in the middle of a gun fight? lol.
It was done to make the Jackal seem relaxed and carefree, (for me anyway) it worked a treat.

The Jackal was one ice cold motherfrakker. Siting there chilling on the couch listening to some tunes and dropping fools. People always think of John McClain from the Die Hard series when they mention Bruce Willis's name. But for my money its his portrayal of the Jackal. This guy was like a one man wrecking crew. I always wanted them to do a prequel in which we got to find out exactly who was the Jackal and why he was so damned cold blooded.

aww man that would be awesome!!! good post :D

Haley Joel Osment, Jimmy Bennett and Nathan Gamble. Truly brilliant actors

I agree. A prequel would be good!

Well, it appears to me that he was (in medical terms) a psychopath. Various medical and psychological theories exist as to how that comes about, but sociopathic and psychopathic traits and markers generally appear before adolescence in those that will have them. And they can come from comfortable loving family environments as well as abusive ones (although from what I've read, it seems abusive ones will make it more likely that any such tendencies as exist will "stick").

reply

LOL..it would have worked nicely if that were what happened. But if you back it up and watch again, he is removing the stuck shell casing, it caught in the action.

...exactly, in the middle of some gun fight, he looked at his gun and thought : "...dust.TSK!". The lol's on you mate. It's what soembody alse said too : he changed the gun's setting to manual.

Just like you said : it was how you wanted to see it. Actually, The Jackal's character never presented even a single instance of "humourous" disposition, or, "coolness" as you put it. What he gave off was simply cold blooded, calculated actions.

I've watched that scene numerous times and if what you say is true, then the makers deliberately made it look inconspicuous. Yes when he was behind the sofa he was looking at his gun, during the lull in the fight so why not flick dust off if he saw it? Is that such an unfeasible thing for a human to do?

Plus for someone trying to make someone else look silly you're spelling is atrocious; 'soembody'? 'Alse'? Woah...

Also a fire setting called 'manual' as opposed to what? As far as i'm aware the HK MP5 has 3 fire settings; Safe, Semi-Auto and Full-Auto.

...The only atrocious thing here is your need to defend what you wanted to see in that scene without any hard facts such as "character profile" or "continuity" to back it up by picking on misspelled words due to haste rather than, say, illiteracy - which would actually make someone look "silly".

And since you failed to understand what "manual" meant, then yes it's "semi-auto" for you. Needless to explain my choice of words in order to describe the taken action of firing a single bullet by choice, for those that are not acquainted with firearms instead of just citing what's indicated on the very weapon.

Keep on believing what you wish - even that he was rubbing his HK MP5's G-spot for all I care. It's equally silly and there's no need for me to "try" make it look so. I'm however pretty sure that I got you thinking about it, even though you like it not.

I did think about it and i am still thinking about it, lets just hope you continue to think about your spelling when you hit 'post reply' next time, eh? And yes on a website that gives you the option to read what you have written before sending it, i am going to pick up on somebody's poor spelling. I check mine so why not you? Too high and mighty? Love to know what your 'haste' was. 'Haste is waste' pal

Your other point, i know a fair bit about firearms as well my judgmental friend and to ME, 'manual' sounds like having to work the action yourself to eject the cartridge and to chamber a new one, as in MANUALLY doing it. Erm...the MP5 doesn't have that option, it never has...unless it jammed of course but in our situation it hadn't and correcting a jam isn't changing the fire mode

Its 'semi-auto' for EVERYONE not just me, i mean hell, the good folks at Heckler and Koch even wrote it on the gun and you're still trying to give me grief. There really is no winning with some people...

As i said before it did get me thinking and i'm not sure when i said i didn't like it. I just thought it was cute the way you came on all Mr Know-It-All mode and made silly primary school spelling errors. Now that i think about it, the Jackal wanted to maim and not kill the woman (Valentina? Its been a while) so that gives a legitimate reason for why he did what he did.

Good day now

... speaking of spelling and being "too sensitive about it", I think it's proper that somebody let you know that "I" should not be in lowercase. Look it up.
Other than that and speaking of waste, I think it's a waste of time to get into the trouble of making comments to the rest of your latest post. This is me being honest about it by the way and not just trying to be evasive. Adding up to your grief maybe, but hell, sometimes one has to draw a line and I certainly cannot keep spending time on people that are trying "to win" ('cause, much like you put it, thta's what you've been trying to do).

PS : The "Mr Know-It-All mode", is sometimes only in the eye of the beholder. Behold of that.
Good day back.

He's not flicking dust; he's switching the firearm from fully automatic to semi automatic.

His weapon is already on semiautomatic when he kills Witherspoon. Shoots him once in the head.
