This movie is currently playing on HBO... so I"m watching it here and there.
Liv Tyler is gorgeous in this movie. But she seems rather BIG in this movie. Maybe her size and stature were played up as part of her character - Plain Pam - but maybe this movie was early enough in her career before she really started to watch her weight. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed or has any thoughts...
I was watching the last half of it today and she always looks the same to me. I mean I even like her sister and her sister is a plus size model, I guess I wouldn't notice.

liv tyler has always been quite sensible about weight and said she would never lose weight for a part, although she has been asked to many times. i dont think she is heavy or big or anything but normal, but perhaps it is our standard of beauty that is screwed up due to the sizes of OTHER hollywood actresses.

share. . . Big? What the hell are you on about? What the hell are you ON, for that matter? Unless you define 'big' as 'looking like she actually eats EVERY day,' then sure. But who would define it that way? What I noticed was that this was the only time I've seen her where I often noticed that she was absolutely GORGEOUS.

Liv is so beautiful as Pam in this movie.....such a darling.

shareDid you notice how much healthier and normal Jennifer Connelly looks compared to her now? She's way too skinny and her face is so guant. It's almost too painful to watch. Same with Naomi Watts. When I watch any movie they're in I almost feel their hunger - literally. They look so emaciated and malnourished...I actually get hunger pains!
I always love it when I see plus size or regular actresses like Liv that still exude sex and beauty. My hubby is a huge fan of Jennifer Connelly in this movie and The Rocketeer...he loves her curves. He mourns them now. I have a body very similar to JC's in this movie with a full bust and hips and he loves it. It was so sad to see her go from voluptuous bombshell to typically skinny hollywood every-girl. Though her acting is still top notch so no loss there. I'd just like to see her beautiful curves back.
shareIf you define big as fat or chubby, then no way! Liv looks gorgeous! She appears tall and slender to me, even on camera, which tends to add weight to any frame. I think everyone is getting so used to seeing girls in films and television with their bones poking out all over, so any break from the norm appears to overcritical people to be overweight. I really wish it was more acceptable for actresses to be a normal or average weight because many girls look up to them and model themselves after them. It can be an impossible standard to live up to...

And look at her in the scenes where she's wearing evening gowns- you can see she's not overweight AT ALL, her collarbones are defined- she is a perfect weight.

Another actress who i thought looked better when she was bigger is Cameron Diaz.I thought she looked nice in The mask and My best friends wedding,two films from her earlier career,but from When she was in There's something about mary,and since then,she has looked way too thin.

I know, right? Cameron looked so cute and curvy back then. Now she's just a skeleton. I think Liv has always looked nice, even at a fuller weight. She doesn't look fat or plump or big to me, just healthy, like she actually eats. *GASP* People need to quit thinking that women have to be emaciated to look beautiful, it's just ridiculous.
Same with Angelina Jolie. You can knock her over with a feather. She's very thin.
shareY'know, I remember Kate Hudson having an ass that could rival J Lo's. But when she went super famous, yeah she lost it. I thought she looked so cute; she had this nice, bubbly personality, and a nice round, shapely ass, cos let's face it, she has nothing going on on top! But she succumbed to the pressures that is Hollywood. I even heard her mother was the one who told her to lose it!
