Does anyone know where this was filmed?
The scenery and manor house are just luminous. I was wondering if it was actually filmed in New England. I know California is more likely, but I would appreciate any clues.

Hello,
I just recently saw this film and I need to know any information on the house (where the ball takes pace) is located. I am very interested in the the front view of this house shown as they (the cast) are going into the ball...and later as edith is leaving the ball. This house looks very different from the Greystone mansion one listed in the previous emails. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Please email me at [email protected].

The grounds of greystone were used for many outdoor scenes of the film.
Greystone's Pompeian Room was used for the interior scenes of the ball, though. See the photo at this link:

I easily recognize those pillars and the distinct pattern of the dance floor.
ETA: I rewatched this film a couple of days ago, and and paused the DVD during that momentary shot of the outside of the house where the ball takes place. I've checked the website for Beverley Hills' Greystone Mansion (formerly known as Doheny mansion), and the house shown on the DVD of The Inheritance is, indeed, that mansion. :-)
