Technical problems with the unrated DVD version?

After finally getting my hands on the unrated DVD version of the film I was quite disappointed to see that there were a great deal of times that the film strip underwent volatile jarring, racing and whiting out which frequently occurred seemingly as some type of reaction to a loud-noised sound effect or even just a change in image shot. Anyone else have this problem? I'm assuming this error goes back to the print used and isn't only my disc but just want to make sure. So disappointing as I've long owned the R-rated version and which while still of course awesome always bugged me about being censored and the extra footage I noticed in the unrated version really did make it all the much better since every second of animation Plympton composed for this is gold in my mind but the print problems as noted really derailed my enjoyment when they happened at least 20 times or so from my estimate.
