Who killed Dutch Schultz?
What was the characters name that killed Dutch in the end, and what was the actor's name?
shareI figured it out. The character in the movie was Lulu Rosenkrantz, played by actor Ed O'Ross. His face was so familar, I couldn't remember who he was. Also, according WIKI, this the events about Dutch's death. "Schultz was in the men's room when Charles Workman and Emanuel "Mendy" Weiss, two hitmen working for Lepke Buchalter's Murder, Inc., entered the establishment. Accounts vary of what happened next.
Workman and Weiss opened fire on the three men in the back room: Otto Berman, Schultz's accountant; Abe Landau, Schultz's chief henchman; and Schultz's bodyguard, Bernard "Lulu" Rosencrantz. Berman collapsed to the floor immediately after being shot. Rosencrantz and Landau returned fire against Weiss while Workman ducked into the bathroom.."
The movie had Rosencrantz being the hitman, which was factually wrong.

Here's a little follow-up: Mendy Weiss went to the electric chair at Sing Sing in 1944 on being convicted of the murder of a witness along with his far more famous co-defendant Louis "Lepke" Buchalter.
Charles "Charlie the Bug" Workman carried two guns, was said to be a dead shot with either hand.

He sure did. Beat Author William S. Burroughs ("Naked Lunch") wrote a screenplay based on the stenographer's record "The Last Words Of Dutch Schultz," but it has never been filmed.

That was after surgery, he was lucid before that and kept mum. What killed him was infection from the bullets. share
