Since cannibis usage has been tracked as far back as the 3rd millennium B.C., and well into the 2nd millennia PLUS A.D., this could be a extraordinary long list to track down. Coincidently with the ever evolving policing and it's continued usage, this list will go on infinitum. Two of the things I can tell you for sure, as long as the legality issue of 'cannabis sativa' remains in question, it's codification will go on as well. In tracking down the folowing information I was amazed at how much this cost stuff costs in 2008. Thats 62 years since it was criminalized in the United States due to "Marihuana Tax Act of 1937." and only 10 years since this movie came out.

Marihuana Tax Act of 1937: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marihuana_Tax_Act_of_1937

"The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime claims in its 2008 World Drug Report that typical U.S. retail prices are 10-15 dollars per gram (approximately $290 to $430 per ounce). Street prices in North America are known to range at about $150 to $250 per ounce. The European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction reports that typical retail prices in Europe for cannabis varies from 2€ to 14€ per gram, with a majority of European countries reporting prices in the range 4–10€.[99] In the United Kingdom, a cannabis plant has an approximate street value of £300."

I remember filled "Hefty" bags were moderately price within the range of about $150 US to $250 US in the late 60s & early 70s. Boy! times have sure changed. Makes you think really hard of about how much of this market share if any, are the regulating goverments & legislative bodies make off this disproportionate price adjustment ;-) "Those were the days..."

And for more terminology there is always, Marijuana Dictionary.com (http://www.marijuanadictionary.com/a-marijuana/marijuana.html) They list some 420 slang terms for Marijuana and also has a "NEW" terminology section if you're interested in the ever evolving litany of terms: http://www.marijuanadictionary.com/newmarijuana.html

The dope was definitely cheaper in the '60s, but it wasn't nearly as good a quality as today. Average THC in the '60s was about 3% and now its about 30%. Also, the junk in the '60s was often filled with stems and seeds, requiring you to manicure the dope, and remove the seeds and stems. I remember a lid of grass being about $10 in Texas. A lid was an ounce. If anyone knows the derivation of this use of lid for ounce, I sure would like to know.

It would be nice if we could outlaw some innocuous type of liquor, like malt liquor,in exchange for legalization of pot. NOT decriminalization, legalization. Even having to go to a doctor for a scrip would be alright.

I remember a "lid" was about one quarter bag about 7+ grams. In the 70s it was called a dime bag probably because it cost $10.

WOW! a lid cost $10 in Texas in the 60s, Geez, I remember a filled hefty bag of that Mexican crap up north here cost us only $10-$15, but the overseas varieties were pretty much the norm up here plus it was much better grade than any Mexican and it well above 3% THC. I remember doing an after-school extraction project with some friends in my 10th grade Biology classroom, just because we could. Furthermore I would never pay the asking price of it today, I don't care how great You believe it is. I'd grow it myself before I'd pay such ridiculous astronomical price.

I plant & grow a pretty ample size vegetable garden on top of 40 years of composting and a little Nitrogen goes a long way. Geez, it's not rocket science.

Well, hell, this Texan should have known everything is always better in the north. We smoked that Mexican grass out of the goodness of our hearts in order to bolster the economy of the third world nation just across the Rio Bravo. It's times like these that I wish we hadn't defeated Mexico in the Texas Revolution, thereby remaining part of Mexico.
