Camera Query *spoilers*

The scene where Alex rigs the RC car w/ the camcorder & transmitter. The terrorists get to the car & steal the tape. But Alex had an aerial in the attic & was monitoring on a telly. So, I've always wondered why he didn't have a VCR recording, there, as well. In other words, he would've had backup evidence.
