Anyone caught this movie recently?

I just saw this movie a few months ago and found it pee-pee in pants funny. Really. Wondering if anyone agrees? Disagrees?

I got the DVD at $4 a year ago. Felix is funny.

Baumbach doesn't think so; he's officially disowned it, due to disagreements with the studio, and asked that his writing/directing credits be removed.

reply

Studio? What studio? It looked to me like they had some leftover money from MR. JEALOUSY or something and made this. HIGHBALL is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, hands down, and it's so obviously a Baumbach endeavor, "Fusco" or no, I'd like to see him claim paternity.

I can't find this movie anywhere does anyone know where I can get it?

I just found it on ebay last week for $.99 plus shipping

I got it within a week and good quality

laughed my ass off and loved it

great movie

I really don't think Baumbach should have disowned Highball and used the Ernie Fusco pseudonym. I know he had a lot of trouble with the studio and was probably bitterly disappointed about the whole experience, but the film itself is funny, witty and enjoyable.

minor Baumbach...no no Baunbachesque

I watched it again last night. I love it.

it's hilarious. looks like total crap though.

I found it at a supermarket for $4.
Some parts are great.. It's a strange little film..
Other than the bad lighting I found the audio so muddy at times I had to crank the volume to hear the dialogue.

Has any of you English subtitle for this movie? Highball 1997 Thanks!

I just streamed it yesterday on Netflix, and I can't remember whether I added it because it had Stoltz' name on it, or Baumbach's, or what. I kept passing it by because the poster image looked so weird, but finally I watched it. You can certainly tell it was filmed in just six days on a single location -- the natural lighting, apprently cheap film stock, uneven editing, seeming lack of a cohesive script -- but I thought that was sort of the point, that it was meant to look sort of half-assed, thrown together, mismatched -- like the people themselves. You had to get used to the people because they were all so off the wall, but you couldn't help sort of liking them all. I'm glad it's available to stream because, while I'd like to see it again, it's not something I want to run out and buy on DVD. Quirky, unusual, and definitely original -- and underrated. Overall, I liked it.
