She is the best thing about this movie. Her character is very real, and tortured. The naive, honest hero and Meg really come together. I liked the romance of the film, and the song Meg sings. "I won't say I'm in love."
Her character saved the film from being forgettable.
I like Meg too, but I don't think without her the movie would be forgettable.

Don't get me wrong, she's necessary for the story and the basics of her character are appealing, but she was directed so poorly.

Meg has always been one of my favorite Disney women. Like you said, her character is very real, more so than other Disney heroines, and she's imperfect in a lot of ways, but that's a lot of what makes her awesome.
shareNot only is Meg a very real and relatable character, but she truly redeems herself after setting up Hercules. Meg ditched the typical damsel-in-distress role and saved him from the falling pillar, which resulted in the restoration of his strength.
