Bought it + watched it for the 1st time -Spoiler questions

I'd never heard of this movie before & bought it on a whim - It's weird -I like it -I have some statements &/or questions -I know the island citizens couldn't communicate to the mainland for help during the mutant crisis, so at the ending are they all loading onto boats & leaving? -Another poster said that the mutants want John to stay & he does, but what will they all eat now? -Is John's obese twin sister like a queen bee & mostly catered to? Her main purpose being to produce offspring? -When the citizens get to the mainland won't they call the authorities? I know if they tell them flesh-eating mutants are out there they'll think it was mass hysteria but surely they'd still check out why they all left? -- I'd like to see a combination pre-quel/sequel to show more of the history of how the Van Daams started to become mutants, how the mansion burned down & also the aftermath when the authorites arrive & about Kathleen's baby
