nothing much happens... a lot like life

i just watched this movie on late night tv (abc 7 chicago). It's amazing how accurately it portrays people in the company of complete strangers. The part at the end where the cab driver is talking to the architect about how he could all he could say to the girl who got raped was how sorry he was was perfect. I've had that conversation myself a few times in life about something I regret not being able to do anything about.
Nothing really happens in the movie, but there is a world outside of that cab where things do happen. It may not have much going on on-screen, but the acting is good enough to make the movie credible and interesting.

I totally agree. That's the way I felt after watching the movie. We got some short glimpses into people's lives and we got a bunch of stories all in one. I'm definitely glad I watched.

Tomorrow's just your future yesterday!

I think this flick would appeal to anyone who has a cabbie job or something else in the "service" industry. I work the front counter at a dry cleaners, and it's amazing how sometimes, people just want to talk, or want to act stupid, or just be strange in the presence of a stranger. I've had several heart-to-heart talks with some of my customers, and it really makes a difference just to have someone else there. The scene with the architect in the cab really got me, because that's just how life is.

A brilliant scene but then I also loved where he was trying to fix the arm rest, just small touches like that really made you believe in the character.
