is there any other heavy metal movies?

is there any other heavy metal movies?

reply

Besides the original, no.

Rock and Rule is the closest you're gonna get.

Another on its way..
Soon..
In a couple of years..

Although there have been a few movies made, not by Heavy Metal, but from stories that have been in Heavy Metal. Such as Immortal, Outland, Barbarella, Alien, Corto Maltese, Eating Raoul, and Spacehunter. And soon The Spirit.

i'm surprised this movie (sequel) exists let alone another sequel

whY? because the western civilisation is so P.C

don't get me wrong, i frankly don't care, if anything i welcome gore, and nudity (mainly nudity of course :P)

however since things are no longer open, stuff like this and the days of 'fritz the cat' are no more.

as stated i'm surprised part 2 was made i.e heavy metal 2000

although from the original message board, i heard someone said another sequel is in the making and the HM2000 is not considered part of the storyline. Similar to 'Superman returns' starts after movie II and the rest is junk.

sounds far fetched, considering when something controversial like games with bit of roughness around the edges gets peoples blood boiling and morons must protest eg. the video game 'BULLY' no guns no swearing but you have idiots protesting infront of R*

all we can do is hope there's a another HM movie.

Strictly speaking, there isn't (yet) going to be another sequel (none planned so far anyway), at least AFAIK. From what I've heard (and without bothering to click a few times over to that IMDb page), I believe the upcoming "Heavy Metal" is a remake/re-imagining of the first one. I don't have too much faith, but I'm certainly going to give it a chance...

Really? So I can't watch Heavy Metal anymore? The very existence of the latest s--ty movie staring Matt Damon has caused all copies of Heavy Metal and Fritz the Cat to disappear/fade away forever?!?

Come on, stick with me for a minute; its not that hard a concept, I promise. If you don't like the swill coming out of Hollywood (which didn't produce Heavy Metal!) today, then just watch old stuff! Give it a few years/decades, and you'll be one of those old cranks crying about how much better movies were "back in my day" and such! :-)

I'm not. And unlike most of the people I've read reviews from, I actually thought HM2K didn't suck! Paled in comparison to the original, but still wasn't horrid. :-D

Feh; people protesting video games is hardly new either. Oh, and just so we're completely crystal clear:

Jack Thompson is an absolute piece of s--t. If I ever meet Jack Thompson, I promise here and now to spit on him, even if it means he sues me. Not even Jack Thompson's mother loves Jack Thompson. In fact, I've heard that Jack Thompson's mother wishes retro-active abortions were legal!

Purely my opinion, but there it is.

all we can do is hope there's a another HM movie.

Hear hear! I'll sign up for that hope. I'm pretty sure it will disappoint; even if it doesn't suck, I'm guessing it will at BEST, pale in comparison to the 1981 version. But I'm anxious to give them my money, and a chance to prove me wrong! :-)

There was an announcement in the last couple weeks there may yet be a third installment.

I agree with you 100%. Political correctness had severely hurt movie makers, storyline's and, general content. It saddens me. The sequel to Heavy Metal was horrible. Never should have been made. Shouldn't they have at least tried to emulate the first movie??
