Wonder if the 2 1/2 hour Director's Cut will ever see the light of day?

Supposedly Anderson had some disagreements with the asshole Producers on this film, who probably own the rights to it and out of spite will never let a better version emerge. It says in the Trivia section that when this played Cannes it was the longer DC version, so it exists somewhere . . . whether we'll ever see it is doubtful.
