Do you guys agree?

Why not?

Because sexuality is not a major theme in Hamam; it's one of the many things the character explores during his transformation. In Brokeback Mountain, sexuality and its consequences are THE main theme.

- Oh my god it's a townie. I actually lost my virginity to a townie.

You mean SEX is not a major thing in Hammam. SEXUALITY is all over the movie.

If the Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard, It can also be like a chicken-pox mark.

Hmm I agreee this movie is dripping in sexulaity but refrains, as have all of Ozpeteks film, from sexual explicitness, very refreshing.

Why, just because there is homosexuality in it? There are scores of gay films, "Brokeback Mountain" isn't the model or the standard, and foreign films are head over heads beyond ANY American gay-themed film, and have been for years.

There is so much more artistry, sophistication, beauty, feeling of extended family and culture and heritage than "Brokeback Mountain" ever would have dreamed of. "Brokeback Mountain" is a very simple movie--two cowboys trying to deal with a relationship that they can't handle in a homophobic world. Sad, sure, but not enlightening or inspiring except for those whose social awareness has been hiding under a rock.

I wonder what was the deleted post?

Sex in "Steam" is addressed as an integral part of life, but the movie delves into many other areas such as marriage, keeping up with the Joneses, family, expats, and capitalism just to name a few topics. The homosexual affair just kinda happens. It's not the essence of the movie. Ozpetek wove a lot of complex ideas throughout his film.

"Brokeback" focuses on gay male sex because that was Ang Lee's intent. The entire story is about an era and in a location where both main characters are extremely conflicted because they were forced to repress their sexuality most of their entire lives. The whole idea was to make a "gay cowboy movie."

Completely different movies on so many levels.

The setting was a hamam, in Turkey in another language. Ok, this one is better.
