Does no-one know this movie?

Just wondering why there are so few threds.
(PS I love Michael Wincott!)

reply

Yeah, it was very empty here =/

Michael Wincott is the sole purpose to watch this movie.
Sure, it got some of "the blues", but I end up hate everyone except for Frankie.
I like the mentor-part though, and the Moby Dick references.

I can agree that I dont quite like the overal plot. But just ignore it and concentrare on Wincotts part in it.

Just the option to see him beat up Meatloaf is worth it =)

reply

So THAT was Meatloaf! It always bugged me that I didn't know which part he played. Pretty obvious when you think about it though.

PS. Thanks for the response, I had given up hope!
PPS. Michael Wincott rules!

reply

Hehe, yeah.
Next Id like to see Michael beat up Lemmy from Motörhead.

He sure does.
And although he can be a real cool villian in most his movies, Gunshy is the movie where you really can feel sympathy for his character.

I really hope to see him in more "drama" roles.

He was great in Basquiat - if you haven't already, check that one out!

Wincott is definately NOT the sole purpose to watch this movie!! He is perfect for this role, though. Actually, everyone in it is good, but William Petersen is fantastic!! His acting is so far above everyone out there these days. He plays this character so perfectly it is hard to believe he is acting. Of course, he plays every role that way. This is one of my favorite films. I don't understand why it is so unknown.

i saw this movie along time ago when it just came out on hbo. then i never saw it again until just recently. i forgot the whole movie and it seemed new to me until i saw the end then relized, i have seen this before. i remember liking it back then, and i still like it now. i have to admit that the main character isn't very likeable, and it's hard watching frankie be such a nice guy, only to be betrayed by everyone at the end of the film. i'm just glad it ended pretty good for frankie at the end.

It seems to be a not so well known movie. I just saw it for the first time and liked it a lot. It has some kind of 80s vibe, neo-noir with an excellent soundtrack and moody cinematography. And Diane Lane looks mighty fine. Very solid film.
