Was the scene where the rednecks are drinking in the kitchen scripted?

From what I gather it wasn't scripted. About 75% of the film was done from a script with actors and the rest of the film was made from improvised/documentry type footage with non-actors.

I read an interview where Korine described telling the actors a few things he wanted them to do and say, but sat outside the room to leave them to just be natural about it. He mentioned how there was a moment after the "he got beat by his own son" singing where everyone just sat quietly as if they were trying to think of something to say.
