totally underrated film

i can't believe this movie has no postings. i mean, come on, time roth is a demi-god and what with the cult of personality surrounding tupac, i was certain to find some stimulating posts here. alas, i am anything but stimulating so, i leave it to you who are brilliant but reticent to start your own thread.
let's discuss the "rebirth of slick" heroin jazz. let's discuss how hot thandie newton is, even as a junkie. let's all rail against how unfortunate that someone with tupac's talents died, but jennifer lopez is still alive and kicking. let us filibuster on the sheer joy that tim roth is (quite possibly one of the hottest sexy-ugly guys alive today... oh, to be involved in a fingercuffs between he and steve buscemi!)
come on people, who's with me on this!?

I agree, this is a very underrated movie! It's like the perfect film to watch with your best bud.
Tupac COULD act as his performance was belieavable and natural.
What can I say about Tim Roth? He is great in this film.
Anyways, I'm one of those (few?) fans of this movie.
Hopefully more people will post soon..

Wow, great comment there, stud. I mean for real, you are showing all kinds of potential for living up to the rep that Americans have all over the rest of the world as being ignorant as a ton of bricks. If you are going to make a comment about Tupac or any other/actor/director/movie, at least have the decency to back up your comments with reasons.

I personally finished gridlock'd about 10 minuets ago and loved it. Tupac and Tim Roth are an unbelievable team. Tupac radiates honesty and beliefe as a man who just wants to try and make his life straight. Roth is excellent as his buddy who just wants his fix. Even though you can tell they are tight friends, they still live by themselves, easily seen by Roth first taking Mudd's blow against his friends wishes, then shooting up later even though Tupac is contantly trying to convince him to quit with him.

I have to say that Vondie Curtis-hall has done an incredible script here. I loved the writing and was really surprised to find that he was actually D Reaper, and has quite a lot of film credits to his name. For a first time writer, he did a great job. He didn't have the story bog down in how Spoon and Stretch were going to go straight, get jobs, become great jazz musicians and cure cancer or anything else. They are just living day to day, trying to get through as best they can. That detail means that the story does not become bogged down into a cheesy "overcoming the odds" movie, it stays a compelling drama, and I am on my way out the door to buy it on DVD.

This movie is one of my favorites! I couldn't find the DVD of it in any store so I ordered it a few days ago and I can't wait for it. I love Tupac and I love Tim Roth. They have a great charisma together. This movie is disturbing, adventurous, and hilarious. Probably the funniest scene is also the most disturbing one, when Tupac wants Tim Roth to stab him in the stomach so he can get in the hospital. Even my mom laughed during this, and she hates violent movies! This movie is so fun to watch, it can't get boring ever! The emotions it evokes are so diverse and anyone can relate to this movie. It deals with hard hitting topics in a comedic manner. I love how this movie works! I'd like to hear others' comments.

I think Tupac was excellent in this movie, altough I don´t like his music that much. Tim Roth is one of my alltime favourite actors, and he is natural as hell in this movie. The dialog in this film is totally believable and funny. I laughed my a$$ off in some of the scenes. One of my favourite movies.

This is one of my favorite movies. Tim Roth is excellent and Tupac has his best performance. This movie did'nt get a lot of exposure, and maybe that was better for it.

I thought this was a great movie, really fun, and good performances by the lead actors. It's a shame Tupac died so early as he was a great actor and brings a lot of energy to the screen.

this movie is completely underrated. i saw it on BET (obviously edited) & when i can actually get some money to spend on myself i'm gonna buy this. it was an amazing dark comedy. tim roth is extremely sexy & his performance is brilliant of course. tupac's performance shocked me. i had no idea he was going to be as great as he was. when i saw this movie, i was sad that he died before it was released. he had the chance to be great. i would recommend this film to anyone.

Yes, this movie is a great one. I'm a big fan of Tim Roth who is hilarious in Gridlock'd. (I totally cracked up at "sexy-ugly guys") And I'd never actually seen Tupac in anything; his acting was awesome in this. :)
I didn't know what to expect when I bought this movie, and it was surprisingly entertaining. I laugh my butt off everytime Tim Roth's voice goes to that higher-pitched yell. :)
