If this movie doesn't convince you that MJ is a sicko then your crazy...

The premise is that he's a ghost and he plays with little kids. It should be proof in the court case.

...omg...

reply

Hey, it's not that he "plays" with little kids, he IS a kid. so whatever. You have completly missed the message that he was trying to tell people. Plus he wanted to make it a little entertaining so he sings and dances in it, thats the whole point. Has ANYONE ever noticed when all the ghosts were walking up the wall the music iss very "harsh" and when they come down it`s very "angelic" movies are supposed to paint almost another picture in your head without the movie being there. If you were to watch ANY movie muted, it wouldn't have the same affect on you as well as not seeing it. try it sometime.

now that I think about it, the movie does kind of play into reality. in the movie, he plays with kids, and the parents don't like it. in reality it's the same thing. he plays with kids at neverland and now he's in court being accused of child molestation. I wonder if he is thinking about that now?

I love MJ too Gaby! Just cause he's messed up don't mean he touched no kids!

what the *beep* are you on about? its ONLY a short movie, no need to be so serious about it and compare it to mj's real life. The truth is that MJ ROCKS! , deal with it.

I'm reasonably sure that this was, at least partially, a bit of art mimicking life as another poster here has said. Speaking of which, does anyone know where I can get this in tape or dvd or cd in Australia?

reply

Thriller
Billy Jean
Don't Stop Till You Get Enough
Bad
Moonwalker

Of course, it's "uncool" to enjoy Michael's music.

reply

I think the movie goes some way to proving that he isn't insane. He just hasn't had chance o grow up and is basically a big kid. The film is a great film and if you don't think there is a mirror between the film and his life you probably aren't educated well enough. There is a pretty blatent theme running all the way through it which parallels his life.

One thing you could take from it is that he is trying to tell the viewer he's not a freak and just wants to perform. He wants everyone to ignore the claims that were made (and don't forger that this has happened to him a number of times and he was coming out of a court case when he started doing the HIStory album) and love him for the quality music that he is still doing today.

reply

So you seem to have missed the point of the movie. The mayor comes to the manor to throw Michael out of the town becuase he dosen't like him becuase he's "weird." Michael is saying that people don't like him just becuase he's different from everyonhe else. He's trying to make the point that, yeah, he's different from you and me... he lives in the manor hy himself and dances with ghosts, but he entertains us, sings for us, makes music for us, so why go hatin' on him? He's different, but he's a good guy. LONG LIVE THE KING!

PookyBear3000 , Take your nasty opinions and shove it up your *beep* ass. Frankly I couldnt give a flying *beep* what you think. You are the one who doesn't have any 'debating skills'. Mouthing off is all your good at.

ok this film came out after the first allegations in 1993. Michael took the allegations and all the other stuff the press had been saying about him for years, turned it round and made a joke about it in the film. like the stuff to do with kids and the bit where he smashes his face into the floor. he was taking the mick because the press had been/have been saying his face is disintigrating for years. It's not sick, its just a film.

oh BTW MJ was cleared of all charges!!

reply

I thought it was God awful Funny and rather clever.

'He's trying to make the point that, yeah, he's different from you and me... he lives in the manor by himself’
Jackson does not live by himself. By his own admission he sleeps with young children. Are you honestly saying this is normal behavior for a 48 year old man and that our society is likely to find acceptable.
There is none so blind as those that will not see.

reply

Dude... If you think he's so nasty, why the hell do you care about him? Just leave him alone!

reply

Why have you seen this movie if you don't like him this much!!! he has had an impact on the world, and If anyone has a problem with it, go crawl in your time machine, go back in time and beat the crap out of Joe Jackson so he can't have kids and we'll see where our pop culture is now!!! I'm just saying no matter what you say or do or type till your hands bleed HE IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE.

If all you ppl out there have nothing better to do with your lives then sit in your mum's basement and bash famous people online, then I feel sorry for you! I plan on being one of those people one day. I just think it is a waste of good energy that can be used towards something usefull like making your OWN music or MOVIES and maybe you might get on IMDB.COM yourself.

One last question: who has a s#*t load of money theas people... or you?

reply

I watched the movie because I actually admire Michael Jackson as an artist. However as a human being he has many problems with his life, not least his attraction to young children. I would like to think he would get help for what the majority of people would regard as an unhealthy obsession, but somehow I imagine the wealth he has at his disposal and the sycophants he surrounds himself with, will allow him to carry on.
You say he is going nowhere, well yes you are correct. His music has certainly not sold in anything like the quantities it has in the past and with an aging fan base and the damaging publicity he brings on himself I'm afraid that Michael is losing the huge appeal he once had. Perhaps he should have a serious think about what made Michael Jackson the force he once was in the pop world and once more thrill us all for the right reasons.
And by the way Gabrielle, not everyone (and I'm sure Michael is among them) like to be judged by how much s#*tloads of money they make, but on what contribution they have made to the world we live in.

Love and peace.

Well obviously. Music in general does not sell the way it used to decades ago, now with the internet and other sources of piracy. Secondly, Michael's music still continues to sell very well, contrary to popular belief. "Off the Wall" and I believe another one of his albums actually re-entered the Billboard charts sometime around 2003. Some of his 'Greatest Hits' compilations sell twice as much as some artist's LPs. If thats not selling well than I don't know what is.

There's no 'aging fanbase' if you're trying to imply that a large amount of his fans have got over him. Nobody ever refers to The Beatles' or Elvis' fans as "aging" and they are far older than Jackson.

Yeah you're right it should have been shown in court then maybe people would smarten up and see that just because he is different does NOT mean he is a bad guy! This film is about prejudice people like YOU! You are exactly like the mayor in the film, you see someone as different and you just can't accept them! It's just total ignorance!!

I have a question to the maker of this thread...........Are you really Tom Sneddon or Martin Bashir?

Good one!

Yes, it's true! IMDB has reached Sweden!

Wow, you are a COMPLETE idiot. I really can't believe some of you are this dumb. Michael was CLEARLY making fun of the fact that people think he's a freak and likes little kids in this film. The Mayor in the film represented the media, Tom Sneddon (Prosecutor in the trials against him for those who don't know). You think Michael Jackson is really that dumb that he wouldn't know that the film played out like his real life? THAT WAS ACTUALLY THE WHOLE POINT OF "GHOSTS". Michael was showing or acknowledging that he KNOWS the public thinks he's weird and a freak, etc. You also think he had the kids in their for "fun" or whatever? That was all done on purpose. It was him answering the critics. It was him trying to show that people think he's weird or whatever, but he's just trying to entertain and make people happy and that he is clearly misunderstood. I just can't believe this flew right over your head. You really did not get this film at all. I think you should look at this song "Is It Scary" that he performed in the film:

There’s a ghost down in the hall
There’s a ghoul beneath the bed
Now it’s coming through the walls
Now it’s climbing up the stairs
There’s a spirit in the dark
Hear the beating of his heart
Can you feel it in the air
’Cause they’re hiding everywhere

I’m gonna be
Exactly what you wanna see
It’s you who’s taunting me
Because you’re wanting me
To be the stranger in the night
Am I amusing you
Or just confusing you
Am I the beast you visualized

And if you wanna see
Eccentric oddities
I’ll be grotesque before your eye
Let them all materialize

Is that scary for you, baby
Am I scary for you, boy
Is this scary for you, babe
Is this scary for you
You know the stranger is you
Is this scary for you, baby

There’s a creaking on the floor
There’s a creep behind the door
There’s a rocking in the chair
But nobody’s sitting there
There’s a ghastly smell around
But nobody to be found
And a coffin nearly open
Where a restless soul is pokin’

I am gonna be exactly what you gonna see
So did you come to me
To see your fantasies
Perform before your very eyes
A haunting ghostly treat
The ghoulish trickery
And spirits dancing in the night

But if you came to see
The truth, the purity
It’s here inside a lonely heart
So let the performance start

Is that scary for you, baby
Am I scary for you, boy
Am I scary for you, babe
Am I scary for you, boy
So tell me is this scary for you, baby
Tell me
So tell me is that crazy for you, baby
Am I scary for you
You know the stranger is you
Am I scary for you

Masquerade the heart
Is the heart of hurting soul
Just not what you see girl in me
’Cause the heart reveals the proof
Like a mirror reveals the truth
See the evil one is you

Wanna talk about it
Tell me
Don’t wanna talk about it
I don’t wanna talk about it
What’s scary for you, baby
Is this scary for you
I’m tired of being abused
You know you’re scaring me too
I think the evil is you
Is this scary for you, baby

-When Michael says

"And if you wanna see
Eccentric oddities
I’ll be grotesque before your eye
Let them all materialize"

Once again he's answering critics as he co-wrote the song. Geesh, some people are so dumb. I thought the message of the film was so obvious.

reply

Once again, I so agree with you.

Yes, it's true! IMDB has reached Sweden!

Michael Jackson is 50 years old, does that register with anybody?

What do you mean?

reply

How long can we continue to say "he's really a child" maybe we are so obsessed with MJ due to his fantastic music and amazing entertaining talents that we ignore whats staring us in the face

reply

Michael has his problems, but that's excactly why we have to support him.

Yes, it's true! IMDB has reached Sweden!

reply

Did anyone notice...not a single little girl in the crowd? Or am I missing something.

It was all about the little boys who knew his "secret" and didn't tell want to tell the parents about the "fun things" he showed them. And the adults who were anxious about what he was teaching their little boys. Cause as far as I could tell, there were no little girls in that video.

reply

Yes. It was lovely. A refreshing change. It's a rarity these days when boys aren't being pushed aside to allow girls to share almost every scene. In most cases, it's girls who seem to have center stage just about everywhere you look. Almost everything is about girls nowadays. It's such a shame. Girls are positively repulsive creatures. Frankly, it would be nice to see nothing but boys. How about an all boy TV station, that plays nothing but boy movies and boy TV shows? Now THAT would be nice. Clearly, besides being a talent extraordinaire, Michael Jackson also had very good taste.

reply

what...the...*beep*?

reply

Are you perhaps the reincarnation fo the mayor of the video? you know the one thats so stupid he cant accept that somone does not fit into his perfect image of what his town should be.
