Supposedly Worse For A Woman To Die, Really?!

The Senator comments that no politician can afford to have women come home in body bags. That idea of a woman's death being more painful than a man's (mentioned by LT O'Neil) really upsets me! It's a perfect example of reverse sexism and discrimination, indicating that a woman's life and safety is more important than a man's, and makes it sound like my 2nd cousin being KIA in Vietnam wasn't a big deal because he was a man. Ugh, seriously?!  No matter what the chromosomes, a human being is a human being; everyone has people who love and care about them and would be devastated if something happened.
A long time ago I was flamed on this board by a creep with issues, whom accused me of being a "feminazi" or man-hater. I'm a feminist in that I believe women and men must have the same legal rights, education and career opportunities, etc. I don't favor male dominance, but I don't favor female dominance either; similarly I don't like to see either gender get insulted and put down. Quite simple, really.
Anyone see where I'm coming from?

It is a biological and evolutionary response to protect women it's the same as our craving for sweet foods. It took millennia for these traits to evolve and our evolution now cannot keep up with the rapid changes in our environment.

Food is more readily available now so we no longer need to crave sweet food to survive and this in turn has lead to the obesity epidemic.

Women are able now to compete with men more equally now society is more civilised but the traits linger leading to the sexism issues. etc. etc.

It should be our choice. Men should have the choice in who we want to help us or protect us in battle. If we are more physically able, we should have the first choice. It's the most logical way to conduct warfare.

I am very happy to read this...
I am not anti-feminist
Feminism did SO MUCH for humankind...mostly in the past...
Now...unfortunately the loudest voices of "feminism" are the right ones I´m afraid.
I strongly dislike third wave extremist feminism or how to call it...
It´s engraved in our society that women are fragile beings and should be treated as such...
You never hit a woman...If you do you face terrible consequences...
I believe in equality of genders...But both sides must come to their senses first
You are probably the only feminist I came across that agrees...
Nowadays the loudest feminists are professional victims...I believe you´d agree with me...
I would not call them feminists I think these people REALLY destroyed the reputation of this movement...concentrating on really trivial things in western society instead concentrating on places where women are hurting the most...we know where on Earth it is...

Jordan was completely right and I believe if this movie was made today it would a great controversy..."feminazis" would obliterate this point of view they want equality but the kind that is in favour of women so in the end it´s not equality...

And I agree if woman wants to accompany traditionally male soldiers on battlefield there must be a change in institution but not in the training and military experience on itself...Just like Jordan wanted to experience every piece of pain the guys did...
I must say it was hard for me to watch O´Neil getting beaten because it is just so terrible to see woman hurt so bad...But (from a movie point of view) if O´Neil was a man it would not affect me at all...we are so used to see men killed and beaten in movies and vide ogames...
Complaints about violence against women in video games are completely unreasonable given the fact that from 99% of thse deaths are men...
But equality involves a lot of work and pain I guess...
