Awesome!!! BANG! Rewind! Ahahha!

Awesome dude! This is what I'm talking about! Yeah Haneke! Mmmm hmmmm! You sure do know how to get a gore, tension, violence, hopelessness movie fans blood pumping! My inner sadist was laughing up a storm over here. Is this boi trying to give me a heart attack from laughter? Comedy should be added to the label because as far as I'm concerned it was basically a black comedy. I love how the family was screwed either way. There is no way the audience was intended to root for anything but their destruction. I was actually on the killers side the whole time and was sad when mario got shot. Good thing Luigi rewinded and fixed things. The rewind scene was fantastic btw. It was like a giant middle finger to people who wanted the family to survive and be happy. That he even went as far as to have the child killed...epic! Truly fantastic. I just wish it was a bit more graphic in terms of violence though.

I also loved how the mario bros (my cute nickname for em) would look into the camera and smile and wink. It's like this film was made for people like me! My silly hippie friend told me this was an anti-violence movie, that I should see it, take a good look at myself and what I'm supporting, and some other pretentious babble but w/e. He was probably lying. I enjoyed the violence anyway. The family was annoying as hell. I think Haneke should team up w/ the Saw guy. They could really work some magic. Some bloody magic.

Btw is there more gore in the remake and is he planning some sequels? Thx in advance. Just the fact they were suffering was more than enough but I would have welcomed some onscreen torture. Any reason he didn't include much?

^_~

Just sharing my love of this grand film. Believe it or not I'm a pacifist.Just not when it comes to movies. But I'd never hurt a fly. Why do we gore, saw, violent movie lovers get stereotyped so? ;_;

Wow random much? Whats wrong w/ you? Cranky! :)

I never thought I'd be one of those pretentious dicks saying you missed the point but... You liked it for all the wrong reasons and anything you disliked about it was done on purpose to make you question why you watch movies like Saw.

The original and the remake are almost identical, if there was gore in the movie it would ruin the whole point.

reply

No, you missed the point.

The rewind was one of the most moronic things ever. Both in this and the remake, it is just a way to suprise the audience without actually doing anything, I thought this would be better than the remake and not have that stupid rewind but no.

reply

Not everything is supposed to surprise the audience, it was supposed to make the audience think and it did.

Not a bad troll post. A little too obvious, though.

reply

WAY too obvious. this reads like my dad skimmed the wiki article for "trolling" and decided to try it out on his own with the first movie he watched. too many emoticons. next.

I agree, completely.

Sadly,
if the real reactions were a bit like this, one could be happy. Even if exaggerated, still it would be honest at least. If you are watching a movie consciously because its bloody as hell, you at least are aware it is not real. You view it as fun only. You could be sure that you would be honest too when you are talkin seriously on ethics and violence in your real life. At least I could believe such a person when being told that he truly cares (or doesnt).

What really concerns me more is the huge amount of hypocrisy made visible by this movie. Those that never would enjoy a movie which just is violent and nothing else - because it is not appropriate to do so.
I have the impression they are the very same people talking with their neighbours about the news of a murder in close vicinity, only faking compassion for the victim to fit social norms. The very same people giving applause on the death of "evil people" in this world, while again faking compassion for the "good people" killed - without realizing this is just an imagery created and given to them by others.

It is those people i believe, that get REALLY pissed by a movie like this which unavoidably confronts them with their own, raw hypocrisy on watching violence. Noone like this will ever want to hear that they are hypocrites. It is how they construct their own, naive world. Anyone endangering that will be denied harshly. What he has to say to them will be flagged as being stupid, useless, meaningless. Accepting what fits into their simple, immaculate reality, while completely discarding everything that may cause to question it by any means.

They will never ever be aware of this. They will be the conservative naive base that fuels REAL violence in our real world. Because they also want it for real without knowing they do. They wont admit it, it would not be appropriate to do so. Even in front of yourself.

Either you are a sick person or you are just a troll. It's sad both ways.
