During Full Title Boogie, when Keitel has his interview, does anyone know what he's talking about... I was laughing too much cause he seemed so cracked, I started listening to it, but i just couldn't stop laughing... No disrespect to Mr. Keitel, he's an extra-ordinary actor, I simply couldn't contain myself...
lol oh I know. Harvey Kietel is a genius actor, and I love him in all of his films. But to me, he just seemed a little too fuc*ed up in that interview.
Before they show Keitel's interview, there's a black screen with text stating how Keitel refused to do be in the documentary. I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that Keitel is a method actor. It's almost as if Jacob was doing the interview and not Keitel. In this light, Keitel refusing to do interviews was probably more of a precautionary method for fear that it will bring him out of his role and affect his performance.
yeah, I'm sure it was all part of the 'method' I like to compare his interview with Juliette Lewis' though. I love Harvey Keitel, he's my favourite actor, he's what made me interested in acting, etc etc... but this interview is funny indeed.
Everyone that sits on their high horses and whines, "Method-acting is a load of crap, I'm having another yodel." hasn't the capacity nor, dare I day, the courage to go through what Mr. Keitel has to go through every shoot. You lose yourself. Time has no value. Your soul takes the Mothership on a seven month holiday in the Isles of the Mind while your body becomes a vessel for art. I once did a commercial for Tucks medicated pads (hemmoroid sufferer #1). It was only a 3 hour shoot, but my character consumed me for the entire Spring. The point is, he could not possibly give an interview as Harvey Keitel, because that day, people, he was indeed not. Judge him not, lest ye be judged.
You had me taking you serious until I read hemmoroid sufferer #1....Jesus man, that's exactly why people don't take method acting seriously. What needs to be accomplished in an ad for hemmoroid pads? I just hope it was a Simpsons reference, not a serious defence of method acting.
....i have a soft spot in my heart for these die hards, though. actors want so much to be adored, appreciated. this is a perfect illustration of that. this guy was lost for a whole springtime in becoming 'sufferer number 1"
woah. that is deep. LOL no offense, cause i know it meant a lot to him. i just couldnt resist poking fun. sorry
