Are cigarettes so cheap that you can have a limitless supply while broke?

Has Sheffield changed much since the film? Read that it has, but in what way?

It seemed overcast and gray during most of the film, except when it was raining when they went to Gerald's. Seemed sunny then and when they were playing soccer. Is Sheffield an especially rainy area?

Thanks for the help.

Chuffing - they use the term "chuffing nora" in the film, which is the equivalent of "holy moly". however, british people also use the word 'chuffed' to mean 'incredibly pleased', ie. i was chuffed with the present my parents got me for my birthday.

Kit (underwear, trousers, or both) - clothes, outfit

Is "Dole" welfare or unemployment? - welfare

Sheffield has become more pleasing on the eyes in the centre. There's some pretty nice architecture now. It's still an industrial city. (The steel city as it's known)

Blimey is wow

Cigarettes are very expensive here in England but some people on the dole (welfare/benefits) prioritise smoking over anything else

Tossed as in tossed off (jack off) or tossed as in thrown.

Yes it's rather rainy in sheff for most of the year bar a couple months in summer we may have some nice weather.

Lunchbox - junk (male genitals)

Bloody is usually put before a phrase to emphasise by adding a swear word.

Chuffing is not quite as bad as bloody. The other poster pretty much got it right. Anymore questions im from Sheffield
