I hate Stars Wars so .....

will I hate this movie ??

I don't think so. I wouldn't compare it to Star Wars at all. You might find some parts annoying, I know I did.

Does it share contrived and absurd coincidences one might find in a Charles Dickens novel like any of the Star Wars movies? It sure does. I only have a casual interest in those films but I like the fact that Fifth Element manages to tell an entire story arch in one go. It doesn't feel like a sequel is necessary, wrapping itself up in a nice little bow.

Element is meant to be tongue in cheek in some scenes only to change tone for more serious ones. The story may come off fairly simplistic and may even wonder what it's really trying to say but there's plenty of eye-candy and room for interpretation. It's definitely worth viewing at least once. Hope you don't mind my long-winded response for your quick question, just offering a good overview.
