There's TWO Australian (Region 4) DVD Versions, and their both in Widescreen. Get it from this site if your from other than Australia, they deliver worldwide.

We haven't watched it for a long time but recall it being a good quality print. Enjoyed immensely.
Edit 13 Apr 09: Just watched ... and enjoyed very much. The print quality is very good and appears to be in 2.35 : 1 or something similar, definitely not 1.85 : 1.

This masterpiece of farce is more than worthy of a proper upgrade while all the older titles are being reworked for Blu-Ray anyway. Aside from proper wide-screen the extras should include the out takes, a small documentary revisiting the talent (NOT annoying voice over commentary), the original Monty Python skit and nice full screens of those marvelous "fierce creature" zoo signs we only got glimpses or cut views of during the movie.
Believe it or not, the original 2.35:1 aspect ratio version is available on an inexpensive 4 DVD set from Amazon... Included in the set are Cross My Heart / Fierce Creatures / Opportunity Knocks / Splitting Heirs, price was $6.29 at time of this writing...
