Do you consider Castor Troy to be played by Travolta or Cage?

Which of the two actors do you consider Castor Troy? Because they didn't really switch faces. The actors just got their roles reversed.

reply

I think Nic Cage was the better Caster Troy.

That's not what I meant. What I meant was which actor would you consider the bad guy/Castor Troy.

reply

I know what you meant. I was just saying Cage played it better.

Everything I thought I knew for the past 21 years has been wrong...

Tough question though because they both had great Castor Troy moments. I guess I'd go with Cage since Travolta is Sean Archer at the end.

What I meant was who would you cast as Castor Troy/the bad guy.

reply

lol I mean this in the friendliest way possible but you did a remarkably awful job of asking the question if that's what you meant in your OP!

But if I was casting the character I would cast Cage. Travolta was great but we only saw Travolta playing the Castor pretending to be Archer and not just being himself. I think Cage's portrayal is the definitive one for the character.

I know you meant it in a friendly way buddy. No offense. But what I meant was that since both characters (Archer and Castor) were played by both actors, that's why I asked who would you cast for each character.

Travolta and Cage basically studied each other for the initial scene so could act like each other. Ergo Travolta was the basis for Castor's initial character. Cage was the basis for Archer's initial character and the final reunion scene. After the Face switch the actor's used their real personalities for the bulk of the movie.
