When did Vincent fall in love with Emily and vice versa? How old was Vincent do you think? Also how do they get out of the car I know now some cars open from inside but do you think someone helps them or do they die together? I know that is sad but my friend said maybe it is like romeo and juliet. Thanks for any input and don't take offense.

Emily was 18 perhaps close to turning 19. I always thought Vincent was supposed to be around 25-27. So maybe somewhere between 6-9 years between their ages.
And no, I don't think they are trying to kill themselves at the end. Someone contemplating suicide woul be depressed, crying, sad, etc. They were definitely on the happy side during the last scene. No indication that they were planning to off themselves at all. And cars have latches on the insides of trunks to pop them open. I'm sure that car had one too. I think it was a new enough model for it to be a requirement that it had it. And not just some cars have them. All cars since whatever year have them. It's a government requirement. Too many kids were accidentally closing themsleves inside of trunks and dying of heat stroke, etc.
And I think Emily started to like Vincent when he went back to pick her up and have her call her dad on the payphone. And he started to like her when he dropped her off at the hotel and she pulled the key out of her boot.
Um, did you actually see the movie?
