I was just wondering if this movie was ever shown in movie theatres, or if it was a 'made for TV movie'?

Don't think it reached theatres. It was released on VHS though.
shareI have only seen it on television. I think it was a television movie made for cable, like maybe for Lifetime or something. I saw it on TV a long time ago, like maybe in the late 90s, and I remember thinking that Yancy Butler was really incredible in it. How is this woman not a gay icon, like Joan Crawford or Liza Minelli: she's so strikingly iconic and campy, especially in this film!
