I JUST GOT FREAKED OUT!

I watched this movie for the 4000000th time today and just happen to be on IMDB while watching it. While reading these message boards, (which i am happy to see that they all give this film credit as one of the funniest of all time) i was reading the actors names and one caught my eye. DID ANYONE ELSE KNOW THAT FONTANTO IS PLAYED BY EUGENE LEVY???? Yes the dad from american pie, he plays Fontano, just wondering if anyone caught that from watching the movie, cuz i never would have guessed

Yes, it is Eugene Levy. He has been in many of Christopher Guests films.

Levy's character was quite obvious. The one that threw me a curve was Hidalgo & the Englishman who offered Hunt the whiskey. Anytime I think of Kevin Dunn, I think of him as lt. block in hot shots. I've only ever seen him in funny roles like when he was on seinfeld and roseanne.
As far as the englishman, it was MR WILLIS from the jeffersons!!! I had no idea that was him. I just happened to be lookin through the credits and im like i wonder who that was, and it was him!!

lol i agree mrham, i think kevin dunn was fantastic in this lol as well as in that seinfeld episode he was in, did anyone else think kevin dunn while playing hildago tried to sound exactly like tuco in the good the bad the ugly? well in some parts lol

I think all of the actors did tremendous work in being characters in this film. I think despite Chris Farley probably being the most popular, he doesn't really "make" the film. That's why I think I have watched it so much myself. I end up quoting several lines from many characters. This is a real gem. It looks like some people still haven't seen it. I had to order it on Amazon to get it a few years ago but it has gained popularity since.

i didnt realize it was levy until recently. despite what the negative repliers say to this, its not obvious at all that its him. a very different character, look and voice then his norm.

you people are idiots if you didnt realize it was eugene levy, i mean really, and its funny how the person who started the topic was like, the dad from the american pie movies, like that was the first thing he did to make him famous

I saw this one several times before I learned that was Eugene Levy. The guy is a damn chameleon in this movie. The costume and voice make it very hard to tell. One of my favorite moments in the film is during the running of the 'gauntlet'. When Farley and Perry start running over a bed of corn the Spaniard says "Whose idea was the corn?". The camera pans to Levy and the look on his face is just priceless.
