there's only one word that sums up this film

sorry but i thought it was rubbish, nothing really happened, the story was weak...i was dissapointed because i like vince cassel a lot and french cinema is one of my favs. but this film didn't do it for me. give me 'la haine' any day.

Trying to compare La Haine to Dobermann is slightly foolish.

It's like trying to compare *insert worthy American film here* to something like Shoot Em Up.

They are two completely tonally different movies. Think of Dobermann as the most out there comc book brought to life and you'll find it easier to cope. Or you could just randomly post on a message board proclaiming your distaste.

Must admit, I didn't particularly enjoy it either. I thought Cassel felt almost like a supporting actor. Seemed to focus on his weird gang and the psycho copper more than Dobermann himself. By the end of the film I didn't have strong feelings for Dobermann either way. Not a good sign. In Mesrine, on the other hand, despite knowing he was a horrible man, you were thoroughly hoodwinked into being on his side! This film just felt like a weird treatment somehow...
