I just read a summary for this movie. I have seen it, and it's great!

But the thing is, the person who wrote that summary had written that Gwen(Mary Stuart Masterson) was Harriet's(Evan Rachel Wood) sister. Isn't that wrong?

I have always thought that Gwen was Mrs Frankovitz'(Cathy Moriarty) sister and Mrs Frankovitz was Harriet's mother...

You should have included a spolier alert in your thread for those who haven't seen this yet...

Gwen gave birth to Harriet as a teen and back when this movei was set, that was very taboo. So, to keep up appearances Mrs. Frankovitz raised Harriet as her daughter and Gwen acted as her sister.

I just wached it for the fist time today, and when they said that my jaw dropped and It litteraly was open for a minute.

Anyways, this movie is amazing...

Spoiler...

The person who wrote the summary put Gwen as Harriet's sister, because that person didn't want to give it away. Finding out that Gwen was Harriets mother was a twist, and it was found out later in the movie.

reply

And I think Mrs. Frankovitz was Harriet's grandmother.

reply

Well, Gwen didn't have to tell Harriet any of that.

reply

She had to so Harriet wouldn't feel like an orphan and also Harriet needed a mother more than a sister she didn't get along with.
