Wouldn't Tom Cruise have made a better Lomax?

Bear in mind, I haven't read the book and I may just be typecasting Tom Cruise here, but this story, to me, felt like John Grisham's The Firm with a supernatural twist. Young, hot-shot lawyer rises through the ranks with his wife along for the ride only to discover the sinister foundation of his firm's success. So I kept picturing Tom Cruise in the role. I like Keanu in other films but I don't think he fit well here.

And they needed someone taller than Pacino !!

I think this would have worked. Keanu didn't have the dramatic chops for this kind of performance.
