Could have been better

With such a talented cast I was surprised that this wasnt that good.3/10 is the best rating I could give it.The action was ok but the acting should have been better

yeah, i agree with you. i thought the idea was good. keaton did a good job, he should play a killer again, he has a evil look in his eyes. the whole movie taking place in a hospital was stupid and the cops would just shoot like wild men. this should be remade with a better director. could of been a great film,

Direction was fine, just some dumb things in the script. Good Action movie though.

I just happened to see it and thought it was a very good action movie. I thought the acting was very good too, especially Keaton's performance.

I agree. This was a decent and entertaining film, but yes, it could have been better. Some of the acting was questionable. When Keaton's character shoots that cop and he's lying on the floor dying I seriously doubt his last words would be, "you surrendered your gun." Totally unbelieveable. I think the guy would probably be thinking about his life or his kid or whatever is important to him. Overall, Keaton was awesome as he is in everything. Garcia was also good. I liked it, but you're right, it could have been better.

I really liked this movie. But i think one thing that could have made it better was if Michael Keaton and Andy Garcia were brothers. I thought it would have accounted for their od relationship. And it would have added a lot more to when Keaton wasn't going to do the transplant. It could have been like they haven't talked for a long time and now he asking him to save his son. I don't know, but i seriously think it would have been a better movie if they had been brothers.

reply

You're right, that would have been a clever twist.

The book is incredible. It's basically a satire on the 80s and the behavior of the wealthy in the 80s.

Absolutely. I hope you know I'm talking about American Psycho, not Desperate Measures. It's one of the best books I've ever read.

Well, Moviegeek, allow me to explain, the reason the cop said that, "You gave up your gun," is because it is common knowledge among police, that it is considered a cardinal sin among police officers to EVER give up their gun in a confrontational situation. I had a few cops in my family, and they explained that.

reply

Interesting. Thanks for the clarification. I do however, still feel it was a bit out of place.

I think a more indie approach would have worked better here rather than the Hollywoodized action cliches, but I liked it enough to give it 6/10 stars.

The first hour is much better than the second half IMO. Sometimes I just watch the first half lol.
