movie completely underrated

It's laughable that this film doesn't even break 6 territory. C'mon people, MK's performance alone is totally intense and driven. Garcia is great, the tension between hunting down MK and not killing him, while getting to the boy in time to save his life was riveting.

Solid 7 film.

Yup, I agree. I enjoyed this movie when I saw it last. A solid 8 out of 10 from me. Michael Keaton & Andy Garcia were fab in this!

reply

I agree.

Keaton is fantastic.

I'd give it 8/10, although i ranked it 10/10 for that little extra boost.

Just watched it again 2night after not seeing it in years, its still a very good movie imo and very underrated on this site i agree.
At least deserves an average of 7/10

This movie is well acted, produced, directed and is a professional piece of work, however the story line is so unbelievable it turns it into a Mickey Mouse spectacle, shame 'cos all the actors are top notch.

My beef with this movie is not with the actors (both Keaton and Garcia are stable providers), but rather with the frankly disgusging morale of the movie. It is okay for a guy because he wants to save his son to enable a psychopath to lay waste to an entire city, to prevent justice and to be responsible for several deaths as long as he can fulfill his own little crusade. The movie is morally bankrupt.

reply

Well acted & directed, OK. But the story and over-the-top actions McGabe performs to escape were ridiculous. And indeed, the morale value is cruelly bad. For example, the fact that Keatons characters suddenly gives a *beep* about that boy is also totally unbelievable.

For me, that kind of nonsense takes away all of the suspense.

the movie was ok not great but not bad
but keaton was incredible if it wasnt him in this movie it would have been terrible.

Sorry, but some of you are missing the point of the movie. To say that it is immoral, may be true...to some extent. But if you listen to the title of the movie itself...it's obvious. Connor is 'desperate' to save his son; it doesn't make him immoral. It makes him "DESPERATE". It's not like he WANTED to have McGabe terrorize everyone, and try only to save his own son. He was doing what he could to prevent it, but save him in the end.

And to the poster that said Keaton's character 'suddenly felt anything for that child': I think you missed the end. All he really cared about was himself, and what the kid actually said to him: "what's the point in living if I can't have fun". This was McGabe's "fun".

Sorry to be too "into" this, but I thought it was a great movie, and wanted to give my 'take' on it. I had to watch it alone. :)

Meow.
I just love kitties!

yeah the person you're replying to was WAY off the mark...no morals? Did you not watch the trailer and know what movie you were seeing. Jesus, that's step one. One a f'ing MORON. Like if you're that stupid - stupid watch movies. You're only hurting what little brain you have left.

i will vote 10 then.

Yeah it is a good film. Sadly when people don't agree with a leading actor (in this case Micheal Keaton) they just give low scores for no valid reason

My Voting history is secret;)
