Kugelmass Episode?
Is this movie based on Woody Allen's Short story; "The Kugelmass Episode"? They are both very similar plots although the setting has been changed as well as the chracters.
shareRecurring premises, gags and dialogue are scattered all over Allen's films and stories. "The Purple Rose of Cairo" is the film of his that I find the most reminiscent of "The Kugelmass Episode" – there's a consistent blurring of the characters' reality and the fiction they consume. In DH, the only such moment is when Harry himself gets blurred, isn't it?
KG is my favorite Allen short story, by the way. One of the funniest, cleverest things I've ever read.
