Kiefer's "accent", lost during the finale memory trace sequence

Of course his "accent" is totally over the top... but during the finale blowout near the end, when John has been injected with the memories/things that the Doc wants him to know to defeat the Strangers, Kiefer appears as his guide through this knowledge-base/"memories" and seems to have NO accent or funky speech patterns at all, just standard Kiefer talking. Why?

reply

I always thought his speech pattern was a result of his years of trauma and abuse by the Strangers (always on the brink of stuttering and/or hyperventilating)....the version of him in the memory was how he used to be.

Or...he purposely designed himself to be more confident and articulate because what he was teaching John over the "years" was so important.

Because the ridiculous way he talks like he's always in the middle of an asthma attack really wasn't working with the short exposition time?

I don't know why the director let him do that high school play acting for the rest of the movie
