' the movie was shot in Spain, Portugal and Ecuador. ' Not entirely.


The early scene at the police inspection station on the highway was clearly shot in Peru. The giant peak in the background, jutting out of a barran landscape, is Huascaran. Nothing remotely resembling it exists in Spain, Portugal or Ecuador -- or anywhere else except perhaps Tibet.

Actually yes! Just watching the movie with the commentary on and Malkovich says that it was a volcano outside Quito. I'm a peruvian, i've seen The Huascaran with my own eyes and in reality is surrounded by other lower mountains not isolated like the one on the Movie. But the shape is similar, I can give you that.

A mi me pareció, y Cuando leí tu comentario me quedé con la duda. El viernes pasado estuvo Malkovich por acá en Estocolmo y fuia verlo (algo sobre una obra de teatro que presentaria un sólo día) hubo una ronda de preguntas pero no alcancé a preguntár. Ayer me llego el DVd de "zona americana" o región 1. Un interesantísimo comentario entre él y Javier.Bardem. Y fue muy puntual. Un volcán cerca de Quito Toda la región pertenecia a una familia (de millonarios ,seguro).
