Yes, he's the greatest actor that ever lived....... :)

Seriously, for a singer turned actor he was Ok. Let's not get carried away.

reply

And you know why he is dead???

Cause The Government killed him!!!!!!!!!!
No wonder its an unsolved homicide! I think they had enough of Tupac...
Nice trick they pulled out there at the casino...(beebing) Suge!!

reply

2pac isnt really a singer turned actor. i think he went to acting school with jada pinkett before he started rapping.

reply

Tupac was an actor LLLLOOOOONNNNNG before he was a rapper, he was in a broadway musical when he was like 10-11 called "A raisin in the Sun". But that's besides the point, he was an incredible rapper, poet, activist and actor. He is arguably one of the most talented and inspirational celebrities of all time, hands down.

reply

He wasn't a singer turned actor. He was an actor before he ever got into music.

reply

lets not get carried away, i'm sure 2Pac was rapping when he was probably like 14 and 15, but yes he got into the acting INDUSTRY before he got into the music INDUSTRY, he was probably rapping before he went to acting school though, but yea he aint some rapper who started acting just cus hes famous and can

What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach...

reply

Actually he was an Actor first, he just got famous for Singing First.

He had attended acting schools long before he ever wrote a rhyme.

"It's not about money

It's about sending a Message

Everything Burns!"

I'm a huge huge fan of his music, but I don't think his performance in Gang Related was "incredible"...he was decent, however his partner was a much better actor, he really carried the movie in my opinion.

With that being said, I agree 2pac was a good actor, he did good work in previous movies such as Juice and gridlocked. He was young, I think he would only have gotten better as time went along. Very sad he died so young. I see all these rappers turned actors and think...most people think he was a violent young rapper, but if you listen to the lyrics, he was a moral rapper questioning what type of society alienates its young black males. Imagine what sort of power a rich powerful movie star could wield, someone with a real concious.

reply

Gotta be honest "2pac4Life" his performance was acceptable to good, however his performance in Gridlock'd was much, much better as he was playing against type with better dialogue. Gang Related was a really good premise modestly executed with the occasional bad line with bad delivery. Props on your username though, as you look at mine you'll understand the acknowledgement.

reply

Man i loved it before he was killed when he started crying

That was a great performance

reply

Good movie, but nothing tops Juice.

I saw this movie on TV a little while ago for the first time, but I only say a part of it. I rented the movie the other night and I was blown away by Tupac Shakur's performance. Tupac was such an incredible figure that wherever he went, or whatever he did there was always controversy surrounding him. Rapper, actor, writer, poet, activist, and legend. Tupac's performance in Gang Related should serve as a foundation for all the other rapper's turning movie stars. Some people think this movie was just OK, but I think this movie was fabulous. Definitely James Belushi's best role in my opinion.

reply

besides Real Men, Belushi's best. Tupac outta this world, great performance.

reply

I was never a big fan of Tupac. I hate rap with a passion and it always got on my nerves when some middleclass white kid thinks he can understand what tupacs talking about.Tupac did a good job in gang Related. This was probably the only movie i really liked of Tupacs.

I have to agree that this scene is a clincher!!

It only tops the end in Poetic Justice, when he's staring at Janet and the camera pans on his face and you can see all the hope, innocence, love and vision of an aspiring young Black man.

I never really rated TUPAC as I was against gangsta violence and culture but as an actor he delivered!!

RESPECT TO HIS SOUL.

yeah, i think he did an incredible job in this film, in fact he carried it. It is a damn shame he was killed cause I reckon he would have become a bit of a screen legend.

sayed - government can be very corrupt, but I have to say, that I really enjoyed both performances in this flick...i've seen it a couple of times, doesn't seem to get boring at all...nice chemistry between belushi and 2 pac...that wasn't to be expected at all.

R.I.P.
